Review of 1st week: power posing

What we learned about first week was how your power posing influence others. We firstly learned about what is the good shake hands.( Brief, firm, warm!!)
Actually, how we pose really matters when we consider leadership since communication with other team member is one of the most important part of leadership.
Pictures on this article are good example!! The picture above is from last winter. I posed imazing that I was speaking in font of somebody. What I assumed I had been doing was public seach. I tried to be like a politician. However, my friends said I looked like leader of religious group doing religios peach for her believers. If I claim that I am a politician, the party must be some cult religious party. I was shocked.

(↑what I thought I was doing)

(What I was actually doing)

(What others thought I was doing)

What we say may be very sophisticated, however, if your posture is inappropriate or have some problem, people shut the door and your claim will be never heard. Actually, I feel the guy from the second picture should be most reliable among others although I don't know what exactly they are saying ( and I might have been explaining something sophisticated) Truely, posture is important.

Self Introduction

Hi, I'm Mai.
It took a while for me to decide how to write my self in this article. I know myself a lot, however, I do not know how to tell others what I know of me. Soon, I realized this is the problem which we always face when we try to do academic work. Understanding something doesn't mean you can tell the thing to others well. However, in the academic field where we are stepping in, communicating others by telling what you understand is necessary. And I think this is the reason why we are taking this course.
Well, may be it was too long for chat. I mean, I need to take Research writing class since I am not a good writer lol

Now, let me move on to the topic, "ABOUT ME"
If I tell you three characters of my self, I say I am a Karaoke addict, manga lover, and debater. I am really an addict of Karaoke; I often go to karaoke by my self and sing there for 3hours or sometimes even more than 6 hours. I really love singing in the enclosed room with Karaoke monitor and microphones. My second characteristic is Mangalover. Because my older sister loved manga and my mother was understandable for mangas, I have read so many mangas and enjoyed them. In my home, I have more than 500 mangas. There is no exaggeration I swear. Finally and most importantly, I call my self as debater. I belong to ICU Debating Society and I like debating. I am a person with passion, decide things with irrationality. Comparing and analyzing things logically are what I don't do when I decide something. However, I am attracted to debate. There are two things what I think is the benefits of doing parliamentary debate: keeping incentive and attitude for studying, improving output skill. I will explain one by one.
Firstly, for keeping incentive and attitude for studying, debate does a big roll especially for me. Because I do debate, I can keep reading books and studying. To be honest, I am not a person with high motivation of studying although I know studying does lots of good; I often prefer going to Karaoke or reading manga rather than studying. However, debate encourage me keep reading books because these knowledges are helpful when I do debate and I want to do better in debate. Thanks to debate, I read books aspiringly even if it does do nothing with my classes.
Secondly, I think my out put skill is improved by debate. I have tendency to be self-centered when I communicate; I am too vague, I often lose the point of what I want to tell. Since debate requires debaters to be clear and easy to understand, these my bad habits are getting better. I hope this article is not  complicated for you to understand so that I can say my outputting skill has improved.
